THE SPIRIT OF GENEROSITY

Since ancient times, the spirit of generosity has been a defining characteristic of the Buddhist tradition. Today, as the Buddha’s teachings spread throughout the modern world, your support is needed more than ever.

Below you find a description of the areas where Lerab Ling needs your support.

CURRENT PROJECTS THAT NEED YOUR SUPPORT

Our Monastics Community

A thriving community of monastic practitioners is the heart of Lerab Ling’s spiritual activities. They observe a daily schedule of prayer and meditation, following one of the most ancient lineages of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition of the Nyingma school. You can take part in this widely respected tradition of making offerings to our ordained spiritual community.

Sacred Art and Architecture

Over the past 20 years, Rigpa has brought to life two magnificent Tibetan Buddhist temples—one in Lerab Ling in France, and one in Dzogchen Beara in Ireland, each a beacon of peace, wisdom, and authentic sacred culture. Today, we have the opportunity to care for these precious places by helping to complete the Stupa in Dzogchen Beara and renovate the temple in Lerab Ling, ensuring they continue to inspire and benefit generations to come.

Over the years, the delicate facade of the Lerab Ling temple has greatly suffered the harsh weather conditions in our region and is in urgent need of restoration. We are working with experts in the field of repairing complex exteriors, who will renovate the cracks in the concrete and build more layers of compound for better protection, before adding a new layer of paint.

Practice Holders – the life-force of Rigpa

To ensure our strong lineage of practice in Rigpa, we wish to train more practitioners, develop and offer a thorough Vajrayana practice curriculum, and support Rigpa centres and students with more streaming possibilities and study materials. Your contribution will support and strengthen the community of practitioners.

Treasury of Wisdom – Rigpa’s Teaching Archive

As far back as the 1970s, Rigpa’s Founder Sogyal Rinpoche started recording the teachings he received from his masters, a system that he in turn taught his students, ensuring each teaching that was given anywhere in Rigpa is recorded. Today, some 50 years later, Rigpa’s Archive contains a wealth of teachings from great masters of the past including Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Nyoshul Khen Rinpoche and Dudjom Rinpoche to contemporary masters such as Khenchen Namdrol Rinpoche, Shechen Rabjam Rinpoche, Dzongsar Kyentse Rinpoche, and many, many more.

Your donations will contribute to upgrading, maintaining and continuously adding new teachings to its database so they are accessible to researchers and students through courses and special releases like for example on Rigpa’s online platform Prajna.

Tertön Sogyal Foundations

Since 2021, the Tertön Sogyal Foundations and Rigpa have been offering grants made possible through generous donations and responsible investments. These grants have opened doors for countless practitioners—within Rigpa and beyond—to deepen their study and practice through retreats, Shedra courses, and training opportunities.

The foundations also support the training of teachers and the creation of new and innovative projects, including the Rigpa Curriculum and a range of online courses, helping the wisdom and compassion of the Dharma to flourish in today’s world.

To continue to support Rigpa’s work, it is vital to ensure growth within the foundations. You can make a donation or choose to leave Lerab Ling in your will which is one of the most lasting and significant ways that you can support our work.
