CLIMATE

As Lerab Ling is over 800 metres elevation, the weather is very different from that in Lodève or Montpellier. It can be very cold and rainy at any time of the year, even when the weather is fine in the valley. It can also be very hot in summer. Please bring appropriate clothing.

Wearing a medical mask is recommended in the temple for those who feel vulnerable or at risk.

ESSENTIAL RULES AT LÉRAB LING

Lérab Ling is a centre for the study and practice of Tibetan Buddhism. In order to protect the environment of prayer and meditation for all participants, everyone is asked to respect the following rules:

  • Certain areas are reserved for people who have come to participate in a retreat. We ask visitors to the temple to stay on the designated path.
  • Dogs are only allowed on the premises if they are kept on a leash. They are not allowed in the temple.
  • Smoking is prohibited throughout the premises, as is the consumption of alcohol or other drugs. A smoking area is provided next to the car park.
  • Photography is permitted outside the temple. Inside the temple, photography is prohibited during presentations by guides, meditations and prayers. At other times, photography is permitted, provided that image rights are respected.
  • We remind parents that at Lérab Ling, as elsewhere, children remain their responsibility. Thank you for your cooperation.
  • Please note – Lerab Ling and La Source cannot be held responsible for any loss, theft or damage to your personal belongings that may occur anywhere on the Lerab Ling site.
